We wanted the kids to have fun and play with the characters, so Motu and Patlu get strength because they eat samosas. We kept them so simple that children could connect with them and feel like adults, even if they made mistakes. Another thing I would add is that they sound weird when they cry for help.

In the film and in the episode Motu, Patlu and the others are beaten by someone who does not remind them of his equipment and does not even remind them that he has a flying helmet. In Dr. Jhatka he invokes the experience of 20 years ago to get other people like Motu and Patlu into trouble.

This cultural discrepancy complicates the general enjoyment of the show for English viewers, but the fact that it is so different from the typical US fare still makes it fascinating. We weren't sure how the animation and story would play out in this episode, so we decided to do a two and a half minute promo for the I.P.
