1. About HPPSC
The HPPSC is the National Level Public Service Commission in India. It carries out recruitment and selection of candidates for various jobs and schemes and maintains records on them. It conducts tests for the recruitment of members to the various Central Services of the Government of India. H.P. Public Service Commission (HPPSC) is a government body that is constituted for the recruitment and selection of eligible candidates in the Government of Himachal Pradesh for various posts in the state. The H.P. Public Service Commission is one of a kind, as it has been constituted to recruit and select candidates who are eligible to be appointed into the Government of Himachal Pradesh through Recruitment Exams conducted by the concerned departments/officers. It is an apex body constituted under Section 8(3) of Haryana State Public Service Act 1970(SPSA) for recruitment and selection in the Government of Haryana, along with the re-recruitment process for selection from other states, as directed by the Hon’ble Chief Minister (CM), Haryana, under SPSA Act 1990(SVP). The Commission has been empowered to conduct two types of exams: Written Exam & Interviews after continuous deliberations with Collector, District Magistrate & District Officer’s Office respectively at least twice every year as per Notification issued by Govt., Haryana, under SPSA Act 1990(SVP). The office of Commissioner was extended during 1988 to consist not only of Deputy Commissioners but also Directors General at Sub Division level and Director Generals at Block level as per Notification dated 29 July 1994 issued by Govt., Haryana, under SPSA Act 1990(SVP). It also extends its jurisdiction to issues related to recruitment and selection into Civil Services like Selection Board Examination & President Election etc., subject to such conditions which may be prescribed from time to time under this Order together with such rules or regulations as may be prescribed from time to time by a Central or state authority prescribed from time to time under this Order, subject to such conditions which may be prescribed from time to time by a Central or state authority prescribed from time to time under this Order together with such rules or regulations as may be prescribed from time to time under this Order. 3. Structure of HPPSC
HPPSC is a government agency of Himachal Pradesh and is constituted under The Government of India Act, 1935. It is an autonomous body to conduct public service examinations in the state. It is headed by the Director-General of Public Service Commission (DGPSC), who is appointed by the Union Government, as per a notification issued by the Central Government. HPPSC conducts various exams like – 1. 5. Exam Pattern of HPPSC
HPPSC is one of the most popular and widespread exams in India. It is a part of the Indian Public Service Commission, established on 8 April 1971. The exam is conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) which includes all the state government, semi-government and private sector organizations such as companies, nationalized banks and other organizations imparting professional training to the citizens of Himachal Pradesh. HPPSC conducts three series of examinations for various categories: A) Civil Services Examination (CBSE) B) Intermediate Examination (ICE) C) Advanced Examination (AAE). The purpose of HPPSC is to create a pool of high calibre manpower for various government services. This exam is held once every year and it lasts for about 25 days. Each candidate has to appear for examination once in order to secure their seat in the civil service examination conducted by CBSE. It is considered to be a very prestigious exam in India. The exam consists of tough topics like general knowledge, mathematics, basic reasoning skills and computer use which are generally found in every normal class school curriculum. It tests students’ analytical skills as well as their ability to solve problems without any guidance or assistance from a native speaker. The test also tests some subjects that are not normally found in school curriculum such as science subjects like chemistry, physics etc., political subjects like history etc., language subjects like Hindi etc., literature such as poetry etc., social studies such as economics etc., cultural studies such as art history etc., mathematical subjects like geography etc., technical subjects like engineering etc. Moreover students must show aptitude towards these subjects while they sit for HPPSC Exam itself and hence it tests their overall proficiency with regard to these subjects in addition to their ability to solve problems on their own when given no additional support from any teacher or other sources during the course of preparing for this exam itself. In order to be eligible for studying this course candidates have to obtain Certificate from any recognized Board or College/University before sitting for HPPSC Exam itself . Candidates can also write this exam through written test held within three months after completion of BS/BSc/B Tech courses . Candidates will be required to sit for this examination twice at least before finally being eligible for admission into the final year BSc / BTech Course offered by any university affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University . 6. How to prepare for HPPSC exams?
HPSC Exam is a test for the post of various government jobs in Himachal Pradesh. The exam is conducted to fill the vacant posts of the following categories: 1. Departmental Assistant, 2. Deputy Secretary, 3. Head of a department, 4. Director, and 5. Head of any other department in HPSC. The exam consists of three sections – Written Test, Group Discussion (Group Discussion) and Computer Based Test (CBT). There are total of 140 questions in three sections – Written Test, Group Discussion and Computer Based Test (CBT). The CCT has one hour duration with each 15 minutes allotted to answer questions in each section as well as time for relaxation etc. The examination dates vary from time to time but generally take place from January to March or April depending on legislative provisions and other factors such as weather conditions etc.. The HPPSC, known commonly as HPPSC, is a government agency and topmost constitutional body of Government of Himachal Pradesh constituted on 8 April 1971.
